The ISType typography conference, which has been organized under the roof of Sabancı University since 2011, will be held on November 2-3, 2024 at Salt Galata.

The Annual Evaluation Meeting of Research Universities was held under the presidency of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar. Speaking at the meeting, which was also attended by Sabancı University Vice President Prof. Dr. Mehmet Yıldız, CoHE Executive Board Member Prof. Dr. Naci Gündoğan shared the results prepared according to the 2023 performance data of research universities in detail for each university and announced the performance rankings. Sabancı University continued to increase its successful performance in research and academic fields this year and ranked 2nd on the list.

On September 19-20, 35 social scientists from 12 European countries came together at Minerva Han to discuss their joint research on polarization in Europe’s public spheres and to develop strategies against polarization together with the media and civil society organizations. The meeting was hosted by Sabancı University and organized by FASS faculty member Ateş Altınordu.

2024 Mercator-IPC Visiting Senior Fellow Yanis Varoufakis’ keynote speech entitled “Cloud Capital: What It Means for Universities and the Broader Community” will take place on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, from 12:40 to 13:40 at Sabancı University.

Sabancı University-FASS hosted Northwestern faculty members and PhD students in art history early this month, Sept.6th -14th. Onur Yazicigil, Christopher Colak, Ahu Antmen, and Kerem Ozan Bayraktar met with the visitors and organized panel sessions for their study visit in Istanbul.

A conference series is being launched at Sabancı University, with the aim of introducing the new undergraduate program “Data Science and Analytics”, which will be launched in the 2024-2025 academic year, with its multiple dimensions, especially emphasizing the interdisciplinary features of this subject area.
