SSM Hosts The “Treasures Of The Aga Khan Museum” Exhibition

Encompassing the reflections of the Islamic world from Indonesia to Sicily, Andalusia and China throughout the same historical period, the Treasures of the Aga Khan Museum exhibition was inaugurated at the Sakıp Sabancı Museum with the cooperation of the Aga Khan Culture Foundation.

The exhibition includes masterpieces of Islamic art, and will be opened to the public as the collection of the Aga Khan Museum in Toronto in 2013.  This is the first time the collection is exhibited in a predominantly Muslim country.

Exhibits include ceramic, wooden, metal and fabric objects that are inscribed with verses from the Quran, in addition to manuscripts and miniatures.  The exhibits comprise the personal collection of Aga Khan and his family.
