Given this year in the field of culture and arts, the Vehbi Koç Foundation 10th Vehbi Koç Prize was awarded to Sabancı University faculty member Filiz Ali, the founder of the Ayvalık International Music Academy.
The 10th Vehbi Koç Prize was given at an awards ceremony held at the İş Sanat Istanbul Hall at İş Towers, Levent, Istanbul. The award and the prize of USD 100,000 were given by the Vehbi Koç Foundation Board of Directors Chair Semahat Arsel and the Koç Holding President Mustafa Koç to Filiz Ali, the founder of the Ayvalık International Music Academy (AIMA).
Filiz Ali said that her excitement did not abate even though she knew she was chosen for the award, and thanked the Board of Directors and the panel for granting her the award.
Ali said, “I am just as excited as I am happy to receive this prize. You have empowered our future efforts. I will do my best to live up to this award.”
