Sabancı University celebrates the Global Entrepreneurship Week of November 5th-12th with various panel discussions. Events include “Suggestions from Business-Making Entrepreneur Alumni,” “Suggestions from Business-Making Faculty,” and “Resources for Entrepreneurs: Contests and Funds” to be held on the 8th, 9th and 11th of November.
Held under the auspices of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) with the cooperation of TOBB Young Entrepreneurs Council, TOBB Female Entrepreneurs Council and Endeavor in Turkey, the Global Entrepreneurship Week will be celebrated between the 5th and 12th of November, 2010. The week is celebrated by 100 countries across the world, and celebrations in Turkey will be attended by more than 100 NGOs, public institutions, municipalities, media institutions and universities including Sabancı University. More than 150 events in 23 cities will be held as part of the Entrepreneurship Week.
Sabancı University will be holding panel discussions on the campus in Tuzla on the 8th, 9th and 11th of November. The first event, “Suggestions from Business-Making Entrepreneur Alumni,” will be held on Monday, November 8th with Sabancı University alumni Ali Kızıl (Kızıl Elektronik), Enis Fakioğlu (ENISOLAR Energy Solutions) and Mehveş Özer (Gök-er Dış Ticaret) as speakers. Speakers will share their experiences, challenges and how they overcame these issues. In addition, Tuğçe Ağca from the Ankara Patents Bureau will answer questions of prospective entrepreneurs on intellectual property.
The second panel, titled “Suggestions from Business-Making Faculty,” will be held on Tuesday, November 9th. Speakers will be Sabancı University faculty members Professor Yusuf Menceloğlu (founder; Nanomat and Nanotego), Associate Professor Selim Balcısoy and Associate Professor Burçin Bozkaya (founders; Visiothink), Associate Professor Erhan Budak (founder; Maksima) and Professor Aytül Erçil (founder; Vistek). Speakers will discuss the challenges of working for two distinct organizations and the ways with which they overcome these issues.
The last panel to be held as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week will be titled “Resources for Entrepreneurs: Contests and Funds” and held on Thursday, November 11th. Speakers will explain the resources they needed to convert their ideas into businesses, and how they obtained these resources. Speakers will be Bülent Hiçsönmez (representative; MIT Enterprise Forum Turkey and General Manager, Google Turkey), Serhat Görgün (general manager; Inovent), Ziya Boyacıgiller (Sabancı University Faculty Member) and Kutlu Kazancı (Galata Melek Investors).
