The 2022 results of the "Entrepreneurial and Innovative University Index", prepared by TUBITAK on an annual basis, have been announced. According to the rankings, Sabancı University became the most entrepreneurial and innovative foundation university with a total score of 77.89, and ranked first among all universities in the "Collaboration and Interaction" category.
The 2022 results of the "Entrepreneurial and Innovative University Index", which has been prepared annually by TUBITAK since 2012 in order to encourage universities to work in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship, and to measure their performance in this field, have been announced. In the index, which lists the 50 most entrepreneurial and innovative universities, Sabancı University is ranked first among foundation universities with a total score of 77.89. It also managed to rank first among all universities in the "Collaboration and Interaction" category, which reflects its performance in presenting its collaborations with local, national and international stakeholders for the benefit of the ecosystem through different interactions.
Commenting on the subject, Sabancı University President Prof. Dr. Yusuf Leblebici stated that they continue their work with the vision of being among the most prestigious research universities in the world, and made the following statements:
“At Sabancı University, we are among the biggest supporters of innovation and entrepreneurship in higher education, with both the R&D studies carried out within our university and the support we offer to our academics and students. Every year, our university implements a large number of both domestic and international projects. Currently, more than 250 active research projects are being carried out at our university. The active budget of our research projects is over 600 million TL. All these efforts are well-reflected both in scientific publications and several patents. In addition, nearly 300 of the research studies carried out within our university so far have turned into patents. As a result of all these efforts, we are glad and proud to have achieved great success by ranking top of the Entrepreneurial and Innovative University Index for the last two years in a row.”
Prof. Dr. Leblebici added that Inovent A.Ş., which they established as Turkey's first commercialization and seed fund company, stands by entrepreneurial young people by means of mentorship and project support, and that Sabancı University's innovative educational structure, which allows interdisciplinary transition, has given its students a visionary perspective.
The "Entrepreneurial and Innovative University Index" 2022 evaluation was made by ranking universities according to 23 indicators classified under the dimensions of "scientific and technological research competence", "intellectual property pool", "collaboration and interaction", and "economic and social contribution".
