A number of projects by Sabancı University faculty members were considered eligible for support as part of the TÜBİTAK Scientific and Technological Research Project Support Program (1001).
Projects to be supported within the 2017 first term call of the program:
“The Control of Magnetic Orientation and Electrical Resistances of Nanostructures with Whirlpool Mechanisms” with FENS member Burç Mısırlıoğlu as facilitator, and İbrahim Kürşat Şendur and Meryem Sondan Durukanoğlu Feyiz as advisors.
"A Study of the Connection and Interaction between Autophagy and DNA Damage Responses" with FENS member Devrim Gözüaçık as implementer, Uğur Sezerman from Acıbadem University as advisor and Jörn Dengjel as foreign advisor.
"Analytical Development of a New Temperature Model Containing all Deformation Zones and Tool Wear under Perpendicular and Slanted Machine Tooling Conditions" implemented by FENS member Emre Özlü with Erhan Altanfrom Yıldız Technical University as researcher.
"Preventing Collusion under Changing Regulations in Electricity Markets" implemented by FENS member Güvenç Şahin with Emre Çelebi from Kadir Has University as researcher.
"Using Particle Methods to Analyze the Movement of Floating Objects under the Impact of Strong Waves" implemented by FENS member Mehmet Yıldız with researchers Murat Özbulut from Piri Reis University and Ömer Gören from Istanbul Technical University.
"Designing a Spare Part Distribution System for Dealership Networks" with SoM faculty member Tevhide Altekin as implementer and Abdullah Daşcı and FENS member Güvenç Şahin as researchers.
"Evolutionary Processes That Create Single Neutron Star Systems" implemented by FENS member Ünal Ertan.
Projects supported as part of the TÜBİTAK Career Development Program (3501) aimed at scientists with PhDs at the start of their careers:
"High-Performance Computation Algorithms for Hypergraph Partitioning Problems" implemented by FENS memberKamer Kaya.
"Development of Graphene-Based Polymeric Piezoresistive MEMS Receptors Suitable for Microelectronic Process Flow" implemented by FENS member Murat Kaya Yapıcı.
