Hasan Mandal appointed member of the Council for Higher Education

President of the Republic Recep Tayyip Erdoğan approved the appointment of Sabancı University Vice President and Research and Graduate Policy Director Hasan Mandal as a member of the Council for Higher Education (YÖK) following an election by the Council of Universities.


About Sabancı University Vice President and Research and Graduate Policy Director Hasan Mandal

Mandal was born in Eskişehir in 1965 and has a bachelor's degree in Metallurgy Engineering from the Middle East Technical University and a PhD from the University of Newcastle.  He began his academic career in 1994 as an Assistant Professor in the Ceramic Engineering Department of Anadolu University, Eskişehir. He became an Associate Professor in 1996 and Professor in 2001. 

Mandal has worked in a number of national and international institutions, won 20 awards including a TÜBİTAK Science Award, and has almost 100 articles, 65 of which have been published in journals covered by SCI, close to 900 citations, and 6 international patents.   

Hasan Mandal has been the Director of Sabancı University Research and Graduate Policy since March 15, 2011, and the Vice President of Sabancı University since January 2012. 

Hasan Mandal was appointed to YÖK Membership by the President of the Republic on March 24, 2015 in accordance with Article 6, Paragraph b/5 of the Higher Education Law numbered 2547.  To view Hasan MANDAL’s full CV, please click here.
