Dear Students,
The commencement will be held on Saturday, June 23th, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.where your diplomas will be distributed. In the meantime, if you have met all the requirements to obtain a degree, you can follow the steps below for diploma receival:

FALL TERM GRADUATES
Students who wish to attend to Commencement graduated at the end of Fall semester should rent or purchase cap &gown from the Faculty and should participate the General Rehearsal scheduled on Friday, June 22nd at 09:00 a.m.
CHECK FOR OBLIGATIONS
Checking the obligations from your Faculty and other units:
Please make sure that you have no obligations left to the University. Students may review the obligations sheet online to determine if there are any unsettled obligations that may prevent them obtaining their diplomas. If you find any holds signed by any unit, please refer to the following information for possible reasons of hold. In order to release your hold, the contact person in each unit is also given below:
Information Center: You must return all the books and materials you have temporarily borrowed. You must pay the penalty amount if you have exceeded the deadline of return.
Information Technology: You have to return your laptop to Laptop Computer Technical Support Service For details click.
Finance and Accounting: You are required to settle all financial obligations with the University. The unpaid bills for telephone used within the Faculty are also a reason for hold. After you pay the required amounts, contact Mümin Özkan (483 90 56) or Aytekin Fidan (483 90 72) for releasing your hold.
University Operations: Please return your Akhayat Insurance Card to Nilgün Ordu from Health Center(483 99 23), complete dormitory obligations -if you have any, the contact person is Şeyda Harmancıoğlu (483 99 09).
Faculty Dean: If you had an office in the Faculty, please return the key to the related contact person below:

Paying the Diploma Fee
Pay the diploma fee (75 TL.) to Akbank Sabanci University Branch, account no. 9999. The receipt explanation should be: "Diploma fee-your student ID_name and surname". (IBAN NO: TR53 0004 6007 1388 8000 0099 99)
Submitting the diploma payment receipt and Graduation Form to Student Resources , signing Diploma Books:
After fulfilling all the obligations above, print and complete Graduation Form and submit it together to Student Resources with the receipt of diploma fee and your pass card given by the University (if you have) to;

CAP & GOWNS
In order to participate in the commencement, you must obtain your cap &gown from the Faculty. You may obtain your cap&gown from your Faculties/Graduate Schools starting from June 7th to June 22th. To rent the cap&gown, you are required to fill out the form (http://alumni.sabanciuniv.edu/en/gown-and-cap-purchase-form).

DON’T FORGET! You can not participate to Closing Lecture, Rehersal and Commencement without a cap & gown.
Invitation Cards For The Commencement
We would like to remind you that the graduating students do not need an invitation for them to participate in the commencement. We have reserved 3 invitations for each graduating student (each invitation is for two people) for his/her family members and guests. You can to pick up your invitations from your Faculties.
IN ORDER TO RECEIVE YOUR DIPLOMA ON THE COMMENCEMENT DAY
Please complete the above stated steps by latest June 18th, Monday, until 5: 00 pm. and register your name for the the general rehearsal scheduled on Friday, June 22th at 09:00 a.m.commencement by attending If, for any reason, you fail to submit the above documents to Student Resources or have holds on your record by the announced deadline, or you could not register to the commencement in the rehearsal; you will not be able to pick up your diploma on the Commencement day. You will obtain your diploma only when all your obligations to the University are settled and at most in one week after the ceremony, from Student Resources.
GENERAL REHEARSAL
All participating graduating students are further reminded of the obligation for everyone to attend the general rehearsal in cap &gown scheduled on Friday, June 22th and register his/her name for the commencement to “Graduation Participation Lists” as of 09:00 a.m. The ones, who do not join to the Rehearsal, will not have right to join Commencement. Since a photograph of the graduating class in cap &gown would be taken just before the beginning of the general rehearsal, it is recommended for you to meet at the amphitheater. This photograph will be given as a present to each graduate right after the commencement.
STUDENTS WHO ARE PLANNING TO GRADUATE AT THE END OF THE SUMMER TERM:
(UNDERGRADUATE, GRADUATE, MIF, LFI, IT Students)
Students who are planning to graduate at the end of the Summer term may also attend the commencement. These students should also pick up their gowns and invitations from the faculty administrative assistants stated above. Moreover, they should also attend the rehearsal on the June 22nd at 09:00 at the amphitheater and register themselves for the commencement.
